Electrical Safety

Health and safety should be a priority for every workplace, and this includes knowing how to operate safely around electrical equipment.

Most work environments feature some kind of electrical equipment, whether that be devices, appliances, tools or apparatus, and it’s important for everyone to be able to handle them safely and correctly.

We’re going to explore how electricity can be hazardous, and what can be done to reduce and prevent its risks.

Learning Objectives

  • Summarise how electricity can be hazardous, and the types of injuries electric shocks can cause
  • Explain what safety measures you could take when using electrical equipment in the workplace
  • Demonstrate how you can take responsibility for your and your colleagues’ health and safety
