To understand just how much eLearning has changed the L&D space, we surveyed over 1,000 UK workers earlier this year to learn just how much the pandemic impacted their learning.
These learners also gave us insight into how they really feel about their development opportunities, new methods of learning at work, and how remote working has changed (almost) everything.

According to our survey, self-led learning is on the rise. A massive 65% of 18-35 years old led their own development in the last 12 months.

We asked learners what the three most successful tools are to support remote learning.
A whopping 70% of learners say eLearning is a successful tool for remote learning. 66% stated blended learning as another top contender.
There’s no doubt that remote working has seriously changed how people learn, and it seems the tools learners can use wherever, whenever, are certainly the most wanted!
During the pandemic, many workers were moved from the office to remote working.
Surprisingly, over half of learners found it easier than ever before to complete workplace training.
2 in 5 learners can undertake more training remotely and impressively; over half of learners stated their organisation created a strong learning culture while everyone worked from home!
Rightly or wrongly, learning & development is often viewed as a ‘nice to have’ for many businesses, despite the understanding that well-trained staff will deliver better output for your organisation.
A shocking 25% of people received no training in the last 12 months, compared to just 16% the previous year.
With a pandemic rife, these figures imply that employers were less focused on providing L&D opportunities and needed a more ‘all hands on deck’ approach to keep their business afloat.
People want to take back control of their lives. After the year we’ve all had, it’s not a surprise.
Despite the common theme of an ‘uncertain’ job market, an astonishing 39% of workers plan to look for a new job in the next year – want to know one of the reasons why? To learn more and progress in their career.
To put that in real terms, in a company of 500 people, a staggering 195 people would be looking to leave.
It’s not acceptable to not invest in L&D anymore. Not only are businesses creating a better learning culture and bringing out the employee’s potential, at this point, it actually has enormous cost-saving benefits!
Invest in learning and development opportunities and reap the benefits of better performing employees, and long-term cost savings.
Gen Z (those born between 1996 and 2010) think, learn, and work differently from their millennial and boomer counterparts.
Unlike the Baby Boomer generation, who traditionally like face-to-face communication and the classroom approach to learning, 69% of Gen Z found social learning (think instant messaging, Zoom, social media, etc.) a very effective learning tool.
