LOLER

The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998, known as LOLER, set clear legal requirements for how lifting operations must be planned, carried out and supervised.

Lifting equipment includes anything used to lift or lower loads, from slings and hoists to cranes and forklift attachments. If lifts are poorly planned or equipment is used incorrectly, the consequences can be serious.

This practical course explains what LOLER means for you. You’ll learn how to identify risks, plan lifts properly, carry out checks and use equipment safely to help prevent injury.

  • Explain the purpose of LOLER and key legal requirements
  • Identify lifting equipment and associated workplace risks
